Software Engineer · Computer Science Undergraduate at NUS

I'm a Computer Science undergraduate at the National University of Singapore (NUS) with a strong interest in computer networking and database systems. I enjoy applying these fundamentals to modern software, building full-stack systems end to end, and solving challenging problems with efficient, practical solutions.

Work Experience

Software Development Intern — SMRT Corporation LtdJan 2026 - June 2026

Designed and built a proof-of-concept workflow engine for internal operations, featuring role-based permission control, a reusable workflow-evaluation engine, serializable concurrency safety, and change-aware notifications, and drove architecture evaluation (DDD, event sourcing) backed by ADRs, Diátaxis documentation, and end-to-end tests.

  • Designed and built a proof-of-concept workflow engine (two internal workflows) on a reusable, logic-gate-style evaluation component, with role-based permission control over who can act on which target
  • Evaluated competing architecture approaches (Domain-Driven Design, layered, event sourcing, undo-feature trade-offs), documenting the analysis and decisions as Architecture Decision Records (ADRs)
  • Architected the system for scale, sustaining 20M+ event records while maintaining sub-100ms response times
  • Eliminated race conditions under concurrent access with Serializable isolation, backed by validation at all system boundaries and end-to-end tests guarding core flows against regressions
  • Set up the local dev environment with Docker Compose and a Vite API proxy, streamlining setup for the team
  • Authored documentation including functional requirements (FRS) gathered through stakeholder meetings and technical docs structured with the Diátaxis framework
  • Side project: shipped a commuter-facing live train-status feature and re-engineered its build pipeline, cutting developer turnaround to under an hour with a reusable, script-driven UI
CS2103T Software Engineering, Student Tutor — National University of SingaporeAugust 2025 - December 2025

Facilitate tutorials and provide academic support for software engineering students.

  • Facilitate weekly tutorials for 10 students, reinforcing core software engineering principles and project management practices
  • Achieved an 83% positive feedback rating, commended for clear content delivery, timely useful feedback, and enhancing students' thinking ability
Software Engineering Intern — LENOR AI PTE. LTDApril 2025 - August 2025

Re-architected key modules of the annotation pipeline—achieved ~99% underline accuracy, scalable 60-annotation layouts, cheaper/faster prompt-chain grading (~80% alignment), shipped a client-side OCR diagnostic, and authored foundational docs.

  • Revamped annotation system to accomplish 99% underline accuracy, maintaining backward compatibility while introducing an auto-indexing feature for annotations
  • Designed an annotation layout algorithm supporting up to 60 annotations per page, dynamically aligning side boxes to prevent misalignment or overlap
  • Improved AI grading system through prompt chaining and token optimisation, increasing grading efficiency and achieving ~80% alignment with teacher standards while reducing operational costs
  • Engineered a client-side OCR diagnostic tool enabling 5 team members to pinpoint information loss instantly, eliminating need to search server logs for debugging
  • Introduced a new “compliment” annotation type to highlight strong student writing
  • Created detailed first-edition documentation for 3 core systems, clarifying legacy code and design rationale to facilitate future developers and reduce onboarding time
